MR. LION OF LOUISIANA

There was once a Mayfair Cleaners in Minden, Louisiana. They had a bible study there every morning. Jean Ellen Ray and Corene King

would go there every morning and sing. Jean Ellen worked there after graduation. Mr. Willis Herring owned the cleaners back in 1953 when

they were seniors in high school. Pat Brown was also working there. He and Willis Herring started an insurance agency and Pat bought

Mr. Herring's interest. "Carolyn Sale McDaniel  worked for several years for the Pat Brown insurance agency" which was located on the corner

of Pearl Street next door to the Quade Studio.   Pat was very involved in the International Lion's Club and became known as "Mr. Lion

of Louisiana". He was also an ordained Primitive Baptist minister and often there would be a marriage ceremony at the insurance agency.

Some would be rather hasty and have a reluctant bride and groom! Pat was one of the sweetest and kindest people and it was my pleasure

to have known him.

                                                                       THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!

Corene, do you remember Pat Brown who used to work there?  He and Mr. Willis Herring started an insurance agency and later Pat bought Mr. Herring’s interest.  I worked for several years for the “Pat Brown Insurance Agency” which was located on the corner or Pearl St. next door to the

Quade Studio.  Pat was very involved in the International Lion’s Club and became known as “Mr. Lion of Louisiana”.   He was also an ordained Primitive Baptist minister and often there would be a marriage ceremony at the insurance agency.  Some would be rather hasty and have a reluctant bride and groom!    Pat was one of the sweetest and kindest people and it was my pleasure to have known him.  Thanks for the memories.
